The account of Sunil goes on thus….. I met him during his last leg of conviction when he was to be released from the prison after completing his sentence. He was convicted for manslaughter and robbery. He requested his fellow prisoners to help him through my organisation to reform his life. He narrated that he was unaware of his parents whereabouts. He used to sleep on the promenade of Worli seaface. He would do odd jobs to sustain his living. When he grew up he was doing all sorts of wrong odd jobs eg. bootlegging, contract small time henchman. When asked why he resorted to such life, he explained that there was no one to correct him and show him the right way of life.
Besides that, he never ever experienced what love was. He was devoid of emotions. I took him under my care for about a year and a half. He was very intelligent and talented and had skills in plumbing, masonry, electrical and painting. He picked up all this during his stay in the jails. Under my guidance, a flat belonging to our family was given to him for renovation and he did a good job of it. One of our associates who is a land owner in Goa employed him to do several jobs in his projects. Today, he has become a labour contractor and he has successfully completed many projects. I would also like to add that he is much a reformed married man with a family of 3 children and shoulders his responsibility with much love and care.
